the art of stained glass with plastic sheets + paint

the art of stained glass with plastic sheets + paint

Has this ever happened to you? You search for a project that will use up that box of stuff taking up precious real estate in  your already to small art closet., only to file it away because it just wasn't good enough?  Remember those plastic sheets your teacher would use on the overhead projector? Well I have a million of these sheets and I finally found a way to use them for our last project of the year: "Stained Glass".  Art club designed their own stained glass image using Sharpies and metallic tempera paint.

What you need: 2 sheets of plastic, Sharpies and metallic paint. If you like the gothic style border you'll need a large sheet of construction paper.

What to do: design an image using a Sharpie. Paint it. When it DRIES all the way tape the 2nd sheet to it. Then cut a gothic border out and adhere your painting to the back. Finally, find a window and enjoy.

Below are most of my 4th and 5th graders work. They only had 2 classes to produce their art and I'm super proud of them!
