Clay night (11/17/2015) was an amazing turnout, and my first clay night at LOE. A few teachers told me it was the largest turn out they had seen since working at LOE. I was so sick with an upper respiratory thing that I could barely talk but we all got through the night with my first iMovie on how to make a clay cupcake, plusplenty of help from volunteers. I could not have done it without my fellow colleagues ( you know who you are) and LOE's art club kids! My heart is bursting with appreciation. Thank you:)
December will unofficially be "paint your cupcake" month. Family members who made a clay cupcake during clay night will be able to come in anytime during or after school to glaze or paint their cupcake. There will be a table designated to clay painting where you can come and go without worrying about disrupting class. ALL cupcakes will be given back before Winter Break. Here are a few pictures of your creations:
Here are a few Art Club Cupcakes on display from the evening.
December will also officially be Winter Wonderland Month. All students will create projects dedicated to the appreciation of winter and all of its decorative potential. Parents (and extended family) are encouraged to come by the art room to make winter memories with their child.
Again, thank you for coming out to Clay Night. There will be one more family fun night in April called "Chair-ty", where LOE art club kids will artfully repurpose chairs of different styles for a silent auction benefitting art club 2016 and art events like Clay Night. We hope to see you there.
