Styrofoam Cups as Art Display Holders
Necessity is the mother of invention and on this day I really needed something to display clay reliefs. This upper grade level project is based on the façade of the Santa Maria Novella, a 15thcentury Florentine basilica, and is special because students got to melt marbles to make the basilicas colorful rose window. The Styrofoam cup was light weight enough to cut into and the right shape to hold itself up. I also made sure I could display the title of the project and the student’s name. In the future kids can make the cup stand more colorful and part of the project.
Never underestimate the power of an art teacher’s closet :0
