Planning Elementary Art Spaces
Setting up the ideal elementary art classroom is a tricky business. There are a lot of variables, like how many students will you have per day, per class, how long is each class, where to put supplies, where's the technology going, how to hide trip wires, clean up, emergency table, time out area...it goes on. To make this year a bit easier for you change-cravers, I've searched for classroom floor plans that appear to maximize the most of a rooms functionality. To hopeful beginnings!
When I first set up my classroom years ago, I borrowed the floor plan from another art teacher in the district. I've changed it a few times but I like this one the best.
Mr. Alexander's room, which is a unique "L" shape.
